Another Day In....First Grade?

Not so much anymore. It is official...I'm going to embark on a new teaching journey this year. Y'all have heard me rant and rave about Candace (my literacy coach), for the past...ever...and she's now going to be a part of my daily life at school!

I'm now going take on the 1/2 day Kindergarten program AND a 1/2 day literacy coach. I'm still a teacher, but only half of the day. I'll have one session, and Candace will have the other- and we'll be coaching during the time we aren't teaching.

I'm very excited about the opportunity to teach and coach...but I know I'm going to be up for quite a challenge. I hope you'll go on this journey with me...as I grow and learn, I'll of course spill my learnings on the blog.

I'm not changing the blog name for one reason: I don't want to! =) I've built up enough of a brand for myself and I don't want to go changing everything up. I'll be coaching K-3 so I may be able to create things in different grade levels as I work in their classrooms and learn more!

Pray for me...I think I'll need it this year!!

  8. This sounds like you will have the best of both worlds. I was a literacy coach for two years... LOVED it buy I missed the classroom.

    Good luck and enjoy!

  17. Wow! Sounds great! As another commented, the best of both worlds. I have done kinder and first in the past and most recently literacy specialist in the lit lab (different from what your doing, I know)....but to have it combined in the way you're doing-YAY!
