FREE UNIT! HUMAN BODY

Was this the LONGEST week ever for anyone else? I'm SO happy to see Saturday. =)

Well, here is my latest baby. Body Language:
A Balanced Literacy Thematic Unit
{click photo above to download}
As of now, the only things I ask if you download are:
1. If you're not a follower, please follow! =)
2. Leave a comment/constructive criticism so that I can continue to improve
3. Pass along to any teachers that you think would benefit!

We studied the human body and that included the major body systems, 5 senses, and dental health. We did nutrition and exercise, but there are SO many  activities on the food pyramid that I didn't even bother recreating my own. I did take one day and dedicated it to dental health. I used some activities from a unit I purchased from Cara Caroll called "Brusha, Brusha, Brusha" and it was darling. =)

Anyway, its yours for free if you want it.

My goal is to have my TpT store up and running this summer because {shhhhh....I think my husband and I are buying a house!} so I need to think about doing whatever I can to help our family! =)
But for now, here are some quick links to my other two FREE Balanced Literacy Units:

* If google docs is being silly, it's easier if you shoot me an email at laneshatabb@gmail.com and say HEY. GIVE ME YOUR UNIT. =) And I totally will.
Happy almost Summer,

  14. I really love this as well. I would love to see your lesson plan book or possibly a daily schedule. I'm moving to first grade from kinder next year and trying to figure out how to fit everything in. That's been something that has challenged me this year as well. I feel like I never get to everything I want to do.

  25. super cute, i love how you incorporated the senses with healthy living--killing 2 birds with one stone. Love the shake rattle and roll, and the tongue diagram. We have a big tongue sticking out of a mouth that we stick the bitter, sour and sweet labels on, after we see what part of the tongue we taste the different things on.

  30. Please consider this friendly suggestion: Only include proper grammar (e.g., your body language song) in your lessons. While it is only a minor thing (real "good"), I think it's very important that we consistently model correct grammar (really well) for students.

    That said, your units are well thought out and creatively constructed. Thanks for your enthusiasm; both your peers and students benefit from your efforts.

  34. I love these units! I can't wait to start homeschooling with a PLAN. You're awesome for sharing. I'm going to dig a bit more to find this answer, but it would be helpful if you could add the grade level (or some other abilities indicator) in the description or unit title. Thank you!! Best wishes for your house hunting and purchasing. :)
